About Us We pride ourselves on providing you with quality veterinary services. Dr Jess Kelly Lead Veterinarian BVSc Jess graduated from Melbourne University in 2006. (Yes, she is Australian, but did live in Dunedin for few years as a teenager.) Since graduating, she has mostly worked with companion animals, but has also worked with shelter animals, street dogs and in mixed practice. Jess really enjoys soft tissue surgery, ultrasounding things, and anything involving pus. She also loves emergency work, and currently also works at an emergency vet clinic on nights and weekends. Finally, she is trying to finish her Master’s in Veterinary Public Health. Jess lives with a big dopey huntaway-cross (John), a small dopey Tibetan spaniel (Toby), a failed foster kitten (Elsa/Silkie), and a fur-less 5yo (Reuben). Jess has loved living in Auckland the last 2.5 years, and has really enjoyed exploring the North Island  Dr Morana Prokes-Petty Veterinarian BVSc Morana graduated from University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1993. After moving to New Zealand and settling in Auckland she passed her NZVE in 1997. She had been practising in companion animal practice since then. Morana enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, especially gastroenterology and nutrition, as well as soft tissue surgery. Her furry family includes an Afghan hound, six cats and two bunnies. Morana enjoys practicing Taekwondo and holds a 2nd degree black belt. She enjoys long beach walks with her dog and husband, growing vegetables in her garden and cooking.

VSA Auckland – West Our newest hospital Auckland West, on Central Park Drive, has opened.  VSA Mt Albert is now closed and all our staff and facilities have moved to our new site. Our newest state-of-the-art veterinary hospital is light and airy with leading edge facilities. VSA Auckland West offers specialist surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology and physiotherapy services as well as animal emergency services from our Animal Emergency team. At VSA Auckland West  we have in-house CT, radiographs (x-rays) and ultrasound as well as access to MRI. Dr Mike Coleman leads our team to provide our advanced diagnostic services. Anaesthesia Our anaesthesia team is lead by Dr Joana Chagas, who is the only registered specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and pain management working in private practice in New Zealand. VSA Auckland West is equipped with state-of-the-art anaesthesia machines and monitoring equipment. We can provide advanced care such as mechanical ventilation, invasive blood pressure monitoring and multimodal analgesia – analgesic infusions or local-regional anaesthesia techniques. Physiotherapy Physio plays a key role in the recovery of many of our patients and provides a solution to chronic pain-inducing conditions that would otherwise need medication. Our physiotherapy team work with advanced technology including K-laser treatment and hydrotherapy to give the best possible care and solutions to our patients. Animal Emergency Our Animal Emergency at VSA team at our Auckland West hospital are committed emergency vets and nurses who are passionate about patient care. Our team are available after-hours to take emergency consults, walk-ins and also oversee the hospital care of our referral patients. We have a purpose built clinic with separate cat & dog consulting & hospital rooms (not many clinics have that, to decrease the stress when visiting the doctor) and separate areas for cats & dogs waiting with their owners. We have clinics in the morning & evening for consultations by appointment, Saturdays are a bit variable at the moment. And best of all you can park right at the door & walk 3 steps & be in the clinic – easier & safer for you and your pet. We also do Health Screens which are to detect disease early.
