We pride ourselves on offering classes for all levels. pform Base Dance classes are essential for all age groups, where all students are involved and learn various types of dance. Dance techniques learnt in these classes include jazz, funk and cheer dance (which includes competitive cheerleading jumping and some stunting). Dance choreography is mainly cheerleading and jazz focused with an incorporation of drill/marching. For all our competitive cheerleaders, it is compulsory for them to be in a Base class as well.
Our Senior and Ultimate Advanced classes are for students who have a history of practical skills, and are ready for a further challenge on top of their base class. Students from the ages 7 and up are individually invited to partake in these classes, where the focus is to further advance on techniques learnt in the base class, especially jazz techniques. Dance choreography is focused on contemporary jazz and lyrical dance.
The Perfect School Of Dance in Auckland

Dance FAQ’s
Get answers to the questions you want to find out about dancing.
Are dance classes worth it?
Definitely you should join a dance class as they are all worth your money . You can’t imagine how your world will change once you begin dance classes. There are so many people to meet, so many events to attend and so many things to learn. Its like being a child all over again.
Dancing can help in other arts such as musical theatre and drama classes. If your child is taking musical theatre at the local Auckland community centre, and attends the local primary school they may qualify for a grade increase when they begin.
What type of dance is best for beginners?
Hip hop, jazz, lyrical and tap are all great styles of dance and may suit your child better than a ballet class would, however, you should never discount proper form and technique when it comes to growing as a dancer.
How long do dance classes last?
They may take any number of classes, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and modern. The classes, which can be quite intense, can last from one hour to two hours or longer.
What age should you start dance?
From our research, the most conducive age to begin serious training is around ages 7-9. Prior to this children should be acquiring movement and co-ordination skills in age-appropriate activities that might include dance. So if you or your child wants to start dance lessons, there is no better time to start then today!
We’re still continuing through October and as the week term ends we’re looking at November week term, and December week term. 2021 week term dates are to be announced. Don’t forget about our monthly Friday night mixer!
